Error XPCOM:EVENT RECEIVER pada Firefox 2.0

  1. “I know many people had reported this problem with the previous release of FireFox and how it seems to still be there with the 1.0PR. Every couple of hours my computer will just freeze up forcing me to shut it down. Then a message comes up saying that XPCOM:EVENTRECEIVER is still running and asks me if I want to End Task. I love FireFox but this error is causing me (and many other people it seems) to have to dump it. Any word on how to fix this??? Forgot to mention – I’ve tried it with and without the Quick Launch enabled. Uninstalled and reinstalled etc. Nada difference. [Link Sumber]

    2. XPCOM:EVENT RECEIVER itu disebabkan adanya bug pada browser mozilla firefox.
    3. Versi Firefox yg sy pakai Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0
    4. Bug ini juga terjadi pada firefox versi 1.0PR dan mungkin sampai sekarang belum terpecahkan 8O

    I’ve got the same problem and I really do not want to give up Roboform which is the best tool in the world! Really need a fix for this nuisance.[Link Sumber]

    Hi I am a new member and have a question. Every time I shut down my pc, there is an errorreport: XPCOM:Event Receiver. I already uninstalled and installed Firefox with registry cleaning, but that didn’t solve the problem. Uninstalling all my software and reinstalling it didn’t work either. Even a format C didn’t do the job. The error disappears after a while, but when I install or uninstall anything it’s back again. Does anybody know a solution? [Link Sumber]

    2. (kemungkinan besar :? ) Bug ini ngak ada hubungannya dengan registry
    3. Seperti juga pd komputer yang sy pakai ini bahwa error ini hanya muncul saat komputer dishutdown
    4. Tampaknya menginstal ulang firefox juga tidak akan banyak membantu, begitu juga format ulang

    Thank you GlobalForce, but I don’t think the link you gave me will solve my problem. In that topic it’s a matter of xpcom.dll, and I have a xpcom event receiver, correct me if I’m wrong. I only have this error when I shut down the pc (still annoying, that’s why I ask this question). When I look in task manager, with all firefoxwindows closed, I see firefox still running. I have the latest version, but with earlier versions I also had this error.[Link Sumber]

    3. error ini tidak saja terjadi pada versi terdahulu namun juga yang terbaru

    Pepim, I’ve spent some time searching this particular issue without much success. Though I have no clue if or how the following may have been ascertained, one poster’s suspicion from BetaNews …. “Nice browser but its firefox.exe process will sometimes fail to disable, especially after struggling to open a web page due to ISP/low Internet bandwidth problems. This causes the “XPCOM: Event Receiver” message when trying to log-off/shut down the pc. I’ve sometimes had two or three firefox.exe processes when this happens. Strange that no one else seems to cite this issue, as I know I’m not the only one affected by this.”Based on the comment, I can only guess the problem lies somewhere within FF’s rendering architecture.     2. Tiba-Tiba muncul Pertanyaan apakah sy pakai firefox atau mozilla ? Jawabannya sy dapatkan dari properti shortcut ke aplikasi firefox, yaitu “C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxfirefox.exe” Namun hati belum puas apakah benar-benar firefox yang sy pakai krn dicaption aplikasi ada bacaan “firefox mozilla”. Sial? raguragu!
    3. Ternyata ada kesalahan design pd aplikasi ini sehingga gagal ditutup, terutama setelah bersusah-susah membuka page web krn rendahnya bandwitch..hmm memang beberapa akhir terakhir di warnet ini sedang dikonfigurasi krn masalah BMU [bandwitch management]
    4. Gejala error ini apabila pada prosess task manager ada aplikasi firefox lebih dari satu…saat sy buka task manager dan memang ada beberapa firefox
    5. Masalah design yang dimaksud adalah masalah rendering…Apakah rendering ? kata mas wikipedia :
